Japanese Black Pine
Requires full sun for at least 5 hours per day
and good air circulation. Needs good drainage, will reach a
height of 20-80 feet and a spread of 20-35 feet.
This tree is frost tolerant but will need winter
protection at below zero temperatures.
It will grow in a wide variety of soil
conditions. If potted, it needs planted in a larger pot so
that the roots do not dry out easily.
The Japanese Black Pine is available beginning in
April 2006 as a container tree. The tree is planted in a 3-gallon
container will start at $9.89.
