Eastern Hemlock
This
is a very popular landscape tree, found throughout the state of Ohio.
It thrives in shade, moist, organic, well-drained soils or slopes.
It will slowly reach 70-feet in height and 35-feet
spread if allowed to grow without pruning. It has a drooping
nature of its leader and side branches. Can be utilized as a
formal hedge with proper shearing.
It will not tolerate et soil nor prolonged drought.
Root rot will occur when planted in poorly drained (water logged
soil).
As of April 2006, we will have this tree available
